I must say it was strange leaving the trail.<\/p>\n
I hadn\u2019t driven a car in three months. It felt a bit like a dream at first. Thankfully, it was \u201clike riding a bike.\u201d<\/p>\n
My own bed felt unusually comfortable. And somehow I missed the night air and sounds of the forest.<\/p>\n
The people I left at home had to readjust to my presence. And vice versa.<\/p>\n
And I will have to become reconditioned to the trail whenever I\u2019m able to return. It will be starting over, in a way.<\/p>\n
At the moment it feels like I\u2019ve left something hanging, undone.<\/p>\n
It is good to be home. And yet I feel restless to get back out, with my fellow travelers, to finish what we started.<\/p>\n
